Since the time of <strong>WW1<\/strong> or before and after flags have change many times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are some examples of countries:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><a title=\"American Flags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flag-works.com\/international_flags.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>United States<\/strong><\/a>-The modern flag that changed in 1960 is 50 stars on the flag represent the 50 states of the <a title=\"American Flags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flag-works.com\/american_flags.htm\" target=\"_blank\">United States<\/a> of America\u00a0and the 13 stripes represent the\u00a0thirteen British colonies\u00a0that declared independence from the\u00a0Kingdom of <a title=\"Country flags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flag-works.com\/United_Kingdom_British_flag.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Great Britain<\/a>\u00a0and became the first states in the Union.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"German Flags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flag-works.com\/Germany_German_flag.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Germany<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 The colors of the modern flag are associated with the\u00a0republican democracy formed after\u00a0World War I. The black-red-gold colors were the colors of the democratic, centrist, and republican political parties<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"United Kingdom Flags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flag-works.com\/United_Kingdom_British_flag.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Great Britain<\/a>&#8211;<\/strong>The current design of the flag dates in 1801.A white-fimbriated symmetric red cross on a blue field with a white-fimbriated counterchanged saltire of red and white.<\/p>\n<p><strong>World War I<\/strong> took the life of more than 9 million soldiers; 21 million more were wounded. Civilian casualties caused indirectly by the war numbered close to 10 million. The two nations most affected were <a title=\"German Flag\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flag-works.com\/Germany_German_flag.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Germany<\/strong> <\/a>and <strong><a title=\"France Flags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flag-works.com\/France_French_flag.htm\" target=\"_blank\">France<\/a><\/strong>, each of which sent some 80 percent of their male populations between the ages of 15 and 49 into battle.
