Dear Patrick; I want to share with you some reflections by our students on our field trip to Monadnock View Cemetery in Keene, NH. Thanks to you and your staff for the excellent service you provided. The flags were put to great use. You helped us create a memorable Memorial Day for our students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Memorial\nDay Reflections 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, May 24, 2019,\napproximately 105 students and 10 staff members from 7th Grade Cluster D, Keene\nMiddle School visited the Monadnock View Cemetery to decorate the graves of veterans.\nPrior to the field trip, students learned about the history and significance of\nMemorial Day in classes and in a whole-school assembly. Students met members of\nthe VFW and assisted them in placing flags at the cemetery. Cluster D donated\n288 flags. Students wrote reflections about their experiences.  Their\nresponses were overwhelmingly positive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe most memorable part of the\nvisit was being able to honor those who had fallen in battle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeople care about the fallen and\nwant to honor them and thank their families.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt felt meaningful to put flags by\nthe graves.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe most memorable part of the\nvisit was was walking around and seeing all the the people who died for our\nfreedom. It really showed me how much they sacrificed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt felt good to do community\nservice to honor those who gave their lives for our country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI see it as an honorable way to\nremember those who gave their lives for our country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI enjoyed visiting the graves with\nfriends, placing flags, and visiting my great-grandfather\u2019s grave.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI feel thankful for all the people\nbrave enough to fight for us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt felt great honoring those who\nfought for our country to show we have not forgotten them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI remember the day for those who\nhave fought and died for us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe most memorable part of the\nvisit for me was placing flags on the graves of those who served. It was a nice\nway to honor them and their service.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe visit made me more aware of\nall the service members who sacrificed for our country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI thought of my grandfather and\ngreat-grandfather who served our country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI loved placing the flags on the\ngrave sites of fallen military veterans. It was a great experience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI liked seeing all the flags we\nplaced. It was great to see everyone come together to put the flags on the\ngraves.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe most memorable part of our\nvisit to the Monadnock View Cemetery was just the fact that we gave back to our\ncommunity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe most memorable part of the\nfield trip was seeing all of the flags on the graves when we finished. It was\nbeautiful seeing the cemetery decorated.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSeeing all the flags on the graves\nmade it seem like everyone was at peace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
